About Seafast Celsius

Seafast Celsius is a Temperature Controlled Storage and Distribution unit , located within the Port of Felixstowe. The facility is operated by three ex Port Of Felixstowe Managers with combined port experience in excess of 50 yrs, which include Operational/Systems development/Cargo Handling/ Equipment Management Examination Facility including working closely with Health and Safety, Port Governing bodies, Port Health Defra and UK BA. This team of dedicated and professional people provide excellent customer service. They have all recently joined Seafast specifically to provide this facility, having recognised the need for an “on port” cross dock service for Temperature Controlled products.

Celsius is also the latest step in the Port of Felixstowe's initiative to deliver Portcentric Logistics Services.

We have entered into a 10 year agreement with the port to provide a commercial Temperature Controlled storage facility and the associated services.

A cold storage facility has been absent from the port for ten years, however ongoing research has been undertaken and although the port has already established solutions with numerous ambient and dry goods shippers for fast moving consumer goods and bulk commodities, clear needs have been identified within the cold chain, fresh food storage sector, and temperature controlled consignments. In a unique venture between the Port of Felixstowe and Seafast Logistics Plc, agreements were recently signed for a four stage development to provide solutions for this segment.

With the first phase now complete, the cold storage facility in felixstowe, will be operated by Seafast and serviced by the Port. Temperature controlled cargo shipped in via Felixstowe and cold storage distribution is a growing market with forecasts to increased volume again during 2010. There are plans to extend a further three phases within the current location, and it is planned to develop these based on customer requirement either Chilled, Frozen or Ambient.

Seafast Celsius is predominately focused on the following activities but not limited to;

• Cross Dock Cargo Transfer for all food products ambient, chilled or frozen
• Loading directly to onward chill transport/trailer for distribution or storage
• Product Labelling
• Order Picking
• Quality Control ability
• Manual handball
• Reefer de-hire

Offering you container, consolidation/load lightening, to enable you to import of heavy containers unable to travel on UK roads, which can be load lightened at our premises prior to onward distribution, saving shipment costs of additional containers ultimately helping you reduce costs and improve your bottom line profit.

We see our location as a key benefit, being positioned within the Port estate allows service's that are unique to an "on port operator".

Seafast Celsius is a member of the UKWA, and is currently under audit for 9001 accreditation (expected to complete Jan2010).
